Singles They're/we're "Quirkyalones", experiencing a "Quarterlife Crisis" and living in "Urban Tribes". Whatever you want to call it there's a real trend towards being and maybe staying single. Sometimes it's a matter of choice, other times it's the result of searching for the impossible dream and, of course, it's also about fate ... that's the way the cookie crumbles, or whatever.
40 million singles in America have President Bush and his buddies scared to death which is why the White House is spending lots of money on promoting marriage. Ethan Watters says Bush or whoever takes his place had better get used to it because numbers of singles are growing. And, what American singles are doing is they're forming what Watters calls "Urban Tribes". For another American named Abbey Milner this single trend very much reflects the "Quarterlife Crisis".
