Liars Postpunk? Postcore? ProtopostTheBand? Welches Etikett man auch immer auf die CDs der Liars aus NY draufpicken mag, letztlich zählt doch nur die Magie ihrer Musik. Und das ist wörtlich zu verstehen. Die neue Liars CD "They were wrong, so we drowend" (Mute Rec) dreht sich nämlich thematisch um die Hexenprozesse des 17. Jhdts in Europa. Christian Lehner hat die Liars in NY getroffen und mit ihnen über die Walpurgisnacht, den Hexenhammer und die magisch düstere Musik des Trios aus Brooklyn gesprochen.
Alles zwischen räudigem New Rock'n'Roll und wütendem Metalcore, hämmerndem Electropunk und bombastischem Blackmetal ist möglich, wenn Fuchs und Nachtstrom aufeinandertreffen. Probot stehen dabei ebenso auf dem Programm wie Soulfly oder die Einstürzenden Neubauten. Zur Einstimmung auf das Konzert von Monster Magnet am 27.3. im Wiener Planet Music gibt es bereits heute einen kompletten Livegig der psychedelischen Schweinerocker zu hören. Der dunkle Doktor stellt danach nicht nur finnische Bands mit so schönen Namen wie Finntroll oder Trollheims Grott vor, sondern auch neue Doom-Releases von Masters Of Reality und Spiritus Mortis.
