Across the world today, 121 million people suffer from depression, and by the year 2020, depression is projected to reach 2nd place on the list what may end up killing you, right after heart disease. 800 000 Austrians are currently living with diagnosed depression and approximately 100 000 of them are between the ages of 12 and 24. Youth depression isn't a matter of just feeling blue while hormones readjust, it's an epidemic that is getting much-needed serious attention. Saturday's Reality Check will be focusing on young people and depression, their experiences, their doctors, their drugs.
