Peggy Lee / Is That All There Is? (1969)
Peggy Lee's alluring tone, distinctive delivery, breadth of material, and ability to write many of her own songs made her one of the most captivating artists of the vocal era. She nearly brushed the Top Ten in 1969 with Leiber & Stoller's "Is That All There Is?".

Quincy Jones / Hummin' (1970)
Taken from Quincy Jones album "Gula Matari", his second and last album under the Creed Taylor aegis, featering an incredible jazz cast: Grady Tate, Herbie Hancock, Bob James, Freddie Hubbard, Hubert Laws, Ron Carter and Milt Jackson!

Al Brown & Skin, Flesh & Bones / Here I Am Baby (1973)
Al Green's Top Ten Hit in 1973 in the best selling version of Jamaican Reggae hero Al Brown. The backing groove was so popular in Jamaica that over a dozen interpretations of the theme followed the initial release.

The Jackson Sisters / Miracles (1976)
Based in Detroit, but originally out of Compton in California, The Jackson Sisters recorded material, with some modest success in the 1970's, however the group really came into their own nearly a decade later following the emergence of the 'rare groove' scene in the U.K.

Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66 / So Danco Samba (1967)
The musical magic of Sergio Mendes & his Brasil 66!!! Take from the album "Equinox", that continues the scrumptiously winning sound that Sergio Mendes cooked up in the mid-'60s.

Isaac Hayes / Chocolate Chip (1975)
Though Hayes had stopped doing movie soundtracks by this point, the title track (a single) of his album "Chocolate Chip" has blaxploitation written all over it, from the boasting lyrics to the incredible funk groove.
