Sergio Mendes feat. Pele / Meu Mundo E Uma Bola - My World Is A Ball (1977)

Taken from the original motion picture soundtrack "Pele - Meu Mundo E Uma Bola - My World Is A Ball". This sports documentary examines the life and career the Brazilian-born Edson Arantes do Nacimento, known worldwide as "Pele", who was one of the most renowned star players of the game of soccer. The documentary includes footage of Pele in his public appearances outside the sports arena, bits of a Brazilian docudrama/bio about him, and extensive footage of his amazing feats on the field.

Toots & The Maytals / Funky Kingston (1976)
Bob Marley may have been the man who took reggae to the international audience and became Jamaica's greatest musical star, but it was Toots Hibbert who gave reggae music its name (so what if he spelled it "reggay"), and he led one of the tightest and most soulful bands the music has ever known. In their prime, Toots & the Maytals may well have been reggae's greatest act (at the very least they're in the top ten), and the intense, soulful groove of their finest performances is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Funky Kingston is arguably their best album.

Chet Baker / The More I See You (1958)
Taken from the album "It Could Happen To You: Chet Baker sings". Chet Baker had a distinctive trumpet style that even Miles Davis admired, but many may not know he was also quite accomplished as a singer. The A&R records people saw an opportunity to market Baker as a romantic crooner along the lines of Frank Sinatra or Nat King Cole. This is surprising, considering his fragile, colorless vocals certainly don't immediately call to mind someone who could sing at all. Nevertheless, Bakers haunting vocal delivery remains one of the most underrated pleasures in jazz.

Marnell / Let's Come Together (1978)
Smooth, rich baritone voiced singer performing love songs and ballads made popular in the 60's, 70's and 80's.

Bossa 70 / Get Out Of My Way (1972)
Bossa 70 was the brainchild of Nilo Espinoza, a Peruvian musician with a Brazilian heart. In 1966, Nilo approached the best musicians he could find to form a group to play jazz and Bossa-nova, the new music craze from Brazil. The band had Nilo Espinoza, on the tenor sax and flute, Alfredo Ginoccio, playing trumpet and slide trombone, Otto de Rojas, at the piano and organ, Enrique Suescum, on electric and acoustic bass and Tito Cruz on drums.

Cheyenne / Come Back To Me (1976)
You can find this song on the self titled LP "Cheyenne's Comin". Solid rare groove! A true stormer of a tune to rock a range of dancefloors (any song containing the lyrics "smokin my smoke & tootin my coke!" has got to be a winner!

Close Up: American Dreamz
(Erika Koriska)
