The Very Best Of Little Soul
(Vol. 433)

Ennio Morricone / Il Grande Silenzio (1968)
One of Ennio's finest themes, taken from the famous italo-western "Il Grande Silenzio - Leichen pflastern seinen Weg", starring Klaus Kinski and Jean-Louis Trintignant.

Stevie Wonder / Have A Talk With God (1976)
Talk to anyone familiar with the music of Stevie Wonder, and the same words keep coming up: joy, love, inspiration. That's because, for more than four decades, the singer-pianist-harmonica master has been creating million-selling tunes that just make people feel good.

Tina Turner / Whole Lotta Love (1975)
Taken from the album "Acid Queen". This is Tina's second solo attempt, recorded in 1975 when she was still under the violent hand of her ex-husband Ike Turner. Her version of Led Zep's "Whole Lotta Love" takes the dynamics of the original and turns them upside down to deliver an fantastic and sensual song.

Al Green / Love And Happiness (1972)
In 2004, the song "Love and Happiness" was ranked number 98 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.

Noriel Vilela / 16 Toneladas (1971)
And now for an all-time stormer. Noriel Vilela had a basso profundo voice to wake the dead, and his legendary 1971 re-working of Tennesseee Ernie Ford's country-western classic "Sexteen Tons" never fails to get the trainspotters out in full force. A real attention-grabber!

Roberta Flack / Go Up Moses (1971)
Taken from Roberta's 1971 terrific release "Quiet Fire". The opening "Go Up Moses" is a loping funky groove with a terrific spoken exhortation by Flack, who co-wrote with Joel Dorn and Reverend Jesse Jackson.

Nur her damit!

Wünsche per Mail: wahlweise an
martin.blumenau@orf.at oder auch ganz schlicht an fm4@orf.at.
