Reality Check (12-13)
with Steven Crilley
The Battle for young voters/our vote
The political parties need your vote. In fact, there are half a million votes out there from eligible voters between 18-25. With the November 24th election too close to call at the moment, the SPÖ, the ÖVP, the Greens and the FPÖ are sending their candidates to university campuses around the country. They're hitting pubs and clubs and going to the workplace. The candidates know that young parents, single or married, care alot about what the next government will have to offer.
Raelity Check on Saturday talks with Christoph Hofinger (SORA) and Peter Hajek about what the parties should be doing and are doing to get the 18-25 vote. Martina Weixler (Institut für Jugendforschung) joins Hajek, Hofinger and Jill Zobel in the studio to talk about the issues that count and whether younger voters will go to the polls on November 24th and, if so, about how they're likely to cast their ballots.
Chris Cummins talks with university students about what they want and whether the campaign thus far is focused on their needs.
